What Accessories Do You Need with a Gaming PC?

by Ruhia

Whether you are buying a pre-built PC or want to try your hand at getting all the necessary components together and building your own PC that is customised to your needs and preferences, it’s just as important for you to think about the accessories that you are going to need to make it all come together and work well. While a lot of thought goes into the internal components of the PC such as the motherboard, CPU, GPU, and RAM, you’re not going to get very far if you don’t have a monitor to see the games you’re playing or a headset to chat with friends in a multiplayer game. Keep reading for a list of the basic accessories you’re going to need for your first gaming PC.

Monitor

The monitor is a crucial part of any gaming PC, and one of the first accessories that you are probably going to buy. While you can get excellent gaming monitors for your Intel Gaming PC that come with a high refresh rate, high resolution and excellent graphics capabilities, you can use any monitor, or even a TV for gaming if you wish. That being said, if your budget stretches to it, then it is always worth buying a dedicated gaming monitor to make sure that you get the most out of your experience.

Speakers

Many gaming PCs do not come with built-in speakers so unless you are happy to play with a headset on all the time, then you’re going to need to consider getting a speaker for your PC. Depending on the type of games that you like to play, playing without sound is not usually very immersive and will take away from the experience. Speakers can simply be plugged into the audio jack, and you can get anything from a basic speaker to a gaming soundbar depending on the quality you want.

Headset

If you prefer playing games with others than on your own, then a gaming headset is going to be an essential accessory for you to buy. Go for a high-quality gaming headset with a microphone like the Turtle Beach headsets to get the best experience. Ideally, you should opt for a headset with noise-cancelling capabilities so that you can get stuck in and be fully immersed in the game with your friends as all distractions will be blocked out.

Keyboard and Mouse

Finally, when using a gaming PC, you can either use a standard keyboard and mouse as controllers, or set up a console-like controller depending on the games that you play. A keyboard and mouse are definitely necessary accessories whether or not you use them as your main controllers. If you do, then it’s a good idea to get models that are designed for gamers. Mechanical keyboards, for example, are an ideal choice for gamers since they are designed to reduce lag time and can help improve your in-game performance.

Once you have your gaming PC chosen or ready to build, it’s time to think about the accessories you’re going to need to bring it all together and give you the best gaming experience.
